Excellence Cluster Universe Opens Its Door To The Public
Do you want to travel back to the Big Bang? Learn the history of the universe? And observe the October sky? Or do you want to be bedazzled by the "Magic Universe" and follow the hitchhiker to the galaxy?
If you do, you should visit the Excellence Cluster Universe at the "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaft" (long night of science) at the Campus Garching. On Saturday, 13 October, the Forschungszentrum Garching will open its doors from 6 pm to 12 pm to the public.
At the Cluster building, located on the grounds of the Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik (IPP), scientists will explain how they are trying to solve the secrets of the universe. If you want to learn more about the Cluster's research work, you can watch several documentaries at the Cluster's "movie-room". The physics-magician Thomas Fraps will present his fascinating show "Magic Universe" and a telescope will offer a view into the nightly October sky. To end this entertaining and informative evening, you can watch the movie adoption of Douglas Adams legendary Science-Fiction persiflage "The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy".
