Dr. Oleg Andreev Joins the Cluster's Research Area A
The Excellence Cluster 'Universe' welcomes Dr. Oleg Andreev. Since beginning of this week Andreev has been working for Research Area A, dedicated to the question of how matter behaves at extremely high energies and short distances. His research fields include high energy physics and mathematical physics. Currently his focus lies on phenomenological applications of string theory, with a particular interest in the interface between string theory and QCD (quantum chromodynamics) as well as black hole physics. In his scientific career Andreev has garnered several renowned awards and honors like the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (Germany) and the National Research Council Fellowship (USA). Andreev holds a Ph.D. from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
