Cluster Announces PhD Awardees 2011
The Excellence Cluster Universe is happy to announce this year's awardees for the Universe PhD Awards 2011 endowed with 4.000 euros. In the category "experiment" the Cluster selected Dr. Christoph Hinke (TUM) and his PhD thesis entitled "Spectroscopy of the doubly magic nucleus Sn-100 and its neighbourhood". This work was supervised by Prof. Reiner Krücken (TUM, currently at TRIUMF, Canada).
In the category "theory" the Cluster awards Dr. Hanna Kotarba (LMU/USM) and her PhD thesis entitled "Magnetic field evolution in isolated and interacting spiral galaxies", a work which was supervised by Prof. Harald Lesch (LMU/USM).
The prize ceremonies as well as the awardee talks will be during the Science Week on tuesday, 29th November, 10:00 am (award for Dr. Hinke in the category "experiment") and on wednesday, 30th November, 9:4 am (award for Dr. Kotarba in the category "theory").
